Password Protection for Everyone!

If you’re reading this review then you’re online. And if you’re online, then inevitably you’ve created at least one online account that requires a password. I can recall my first bank account where a PIN was required. The bank officer suggested that I use some 4-digit combination that would be easy to remember, like a birth year. As you sit there and cringe at the idea of making oneself so vulnerable for identity theft, rest assured that account has long since been closed and the last thing I would ever use is my birth year! But how can one generate safe effective passwords and manage them in an intelligent fashion? A program like 1Password makes the task simple and safe. As the name implies, you create one password-protected account and store all your information there. You can work in any one of a number of browsers including Safari, Firefox and Flock that integrate with the 1 Password application. When you create the password, 1Password can even tell you how strong that password is. Or simply let 1Password utilize its strong password generator to create a strong password and store the information for you. But it doesn’t end with your online transactions. You can store credit card, bank info or any information that you want to maintain securely. One of my favorite features is the ability to download this file to my Palm and access any of this information securely while on the road. It’s simple, safe, and secure, a feature rich program priced at $34.95 for a single use license or $49.95 for a family license.
